Kraft Foods RD&Q has developed the so-called Global RD&Q Career Matrix which provides consistency and clearly on the opportunities on Kraft Foods RD&Q worldwide.

The Career Matrix is a continuum of career opportunities that allows for multiple avenues of contribution and leadership within our organization and provides opportunities for career growth in many directions. Leadership skills are essential in any position on the Career Matrix. Leadership is demonstrated by breaking new ground technically and operationally, and by driving new ideas to profitable application in the business. This requires ability to influence decision-makers and other technical and functional experts within the business, and building relationships with world class experts outside the company so that the broadest science and technology base is considered and leveraged to benefit our business. The Career Matrix shows that whether you are managing people, ideas or programs, we can develop our capabilities as leaders, innovators and contributors to our vision.

This System captures job classifications in three groupings – Technical Specialists, Program Managers, and Managers:
  • Technical Specialists function as idea leaders and technical experts.
  • Program Managers have technical expertise that is integral to their success, but also directly work through others as project/program/team leaders.
  • Managers focus on technical strategies, objectives and people development.
These three roles accurately describe and validate the way people work in our global organization. The Career Matrix harmonizes job titles across RD&Q. Jobs are classified to reflect the continuum of career opportunities available for Technical Specialists, Program Managers and Managers. The Career Matrix acknowledges the different skills and expertise required within our community and offers a range of career opportunities that allow members of RD&Q to grow and develop as contributors to Kraft Foods.

5 General Principles of Career Advancement in RD&Q
Kraft Foods RD&Q is an organization based on deep scientific, technical and engineering expertise at functional, category, and Kraft company-wide level.
  1. Individual development is based on skills, know-how and behavior.
